“Towards the end of the World War I in the Kyustendil plum growing region, located in the south western corner of Bulgaria, a new disease on plum trees was noticed for the first time, characterized by the premature ripening and dropping of the fruit. The disease gradually spread in all directions………

         The virus continued it’s progressively spread to the large part of European continent, around the Mediterranean basin, Near and Middle East, South and North America and Asia.
