The theme of the Symposium is : "A century of plum pox virus research."

 

The program will include Scientific and Technical tour

  • Scientific program

It will consist of oral and poster presentations, round table discussion. The papers presented at the Symposium will be peer-reviewed and published in Acta Horticulturae. The final acceptance of papers for oral and poster presentations will be decided by the scientific committee.


  Biological and Epidemiological properties of PPV
•    PPV distribution and its driving factors;
•    Advanced development of PPV diagnostics tools;
•    PPV strains and their diversifications. 


 Genetic factors involved in Prunus/PPV interactions
•    Molecular markers for marker assisted selection of PPV resistant fruit varieties;
•    Conventional breeding for PPV resistance and tolerance;
•    Biotechnological approach for PPV resistance and tolerance in stone fruit species.

  • Technical tour

A symposium tour to PPV infected orchards situated in one of the main plum growing region of the country – South Central Region will be organized together with a visit of Fruit Growing Institute, Plovdiv.
Visit to the old town of Plovdiv.
